First flight for the A350-1000

On the 24th of November 2016, the stretched version of the Airbus A350 took to the skies in Toulouse, France. It is powered by the specially developed Rolls-Royce AWB-97 turbofan engine and it is the latest member of the Airbus wide-body family. This specific model is the first flying aircraft to carry the electric Ground Door Opening (eGDO) system that Ultra supplies to the A350 program. The eGDO system is installed at each of the three undercarriages and it allowed landing gear door open/close operation on the ground to allow easy inspection and maintenance.
