The importance of designing for manufacturing is underlined by the fact that about 70% of manufacturing costs of a product (cost of materials, processing, and assembly) are determined by design decisions, with production decisions (such as process planning or machine selection) responsible for only 20%.
Available on request is our DFM document that has generic recommendations that covers most manufacturing processes. Our engineering team are on hand to offer advice and guidance on how to implement these recommendations at product development stage, resulting in a product that is easily and economically manufactured.
